The City of Sedona welcomes the community to join a conversation about land use and the future of housing for the next decade. Be a part of this discussion to gain insight into Sedona’s prospects and contribute your ideas for the upcoming ten years. This gathering is a part of Plan Sedona, a collection of events centered around the 10-year update to the city’s Community Plan. The event on Wednesday, April 19th, 2023, from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at West Sedona School near Posse Grounds Park is open to all. We encourage you to arrive at 4:30 p.m. for refreshments and informative exhibits, with the program commencing at 5:00 p.m.
Did you know that over 50% of Sedona’s city limits land comprises National Forest or other open spaces? Discover the implications of this for the city’s future growth, including the amount of developable land still available and the constraints on construction. The City Council has prioritized affordable housing across all income levels.
This Plan Sedona event promises to be an enlightening and engaging experience where attendees can participate in interactive stations focused on the city’s growth boundaries, density, zoning, and housing. Housing and Community Development staff will be present to provide information on current programs, potential housing projects, and the challenges in addressing the housing shortage. Additionally, several Plan Sedona Work Group members will share creative approaches and discuss the importance of housing in maintaining Sedona as a thriving, livable community over the next ten years.
